I'm constantly amazed that *anybody* falls for those (and to be fair, they come from both sides of the political aisle). I mean, just compare the use of reason and evidence from each site, and I know which one I'd put my money on.
If people really do view that sort of emotional hype talk as 'evidence' (from the 'smartgirl' oxymoron site), it explains a lot about how humans can get tricked into doing some pretty despicable stuff. I have fantasies sometimes, of how it would be if the world became educated enough to think with their intellect instead of their emotions -- it's a dream, anyway.
Speaking from a prof to a librarian, I suspect we agree on that point. :)
ETA: have to admit I do love the irony of Snopes getting urban-mythed. *lol*
