while having our house repaired (we had a termite infestation and had to replace A LOT of wooden parts in our 40-plus-year-old OLD house), we also had to remove our 10-plus-year-old A/C unit and will be buying an inverter-window-type one in a few weeks as it is more energy efficient than our old unit. good thing is that right now is the monsoon season and we are enjoying a lot of cool weather in the evenings. so i really feel for you when you mention that you have to endure hot evenings as we do have that here in our tropical parts. thank the heavens for electric fans. the electric is another story (we have one of the highest electric rates in the world).
