The Host had an interesting, if predictable, concept but was lacking in how it was done. My biggest problem with...Meyers (I think that's her name) is that she talks down to her audience. I felt like she didn't believe her readers could follow the story if she didn't explain every little thing. I got some slack for saying that to some people who argued it was her style . Whatever. I'd like too see the movie because I thought it'd make an interesting one while I was reading it... But knowing Hollywood, they probably just made it worse.
*Puts on devil's advocate hat* Are you now, or have you ever been, a cricket? How do you know with complete certainty that a crickets purpose is to reproduce? Many would say that a human's purpose is reproduction, does that make all the humans that can't or won't reproduce are zombies?
