Title: Lifecycle (G, paranormal)
Author: charisstoma
Word count: 100
Prompt: eyes
Under the white sheet, the slowly hardening imago rested, shocked bitter eyes staring up at the ceiling. His mind replayed what the scientists had revealed; the Magicicada emerged from the soil every 17 years to procreate. They fed on sap tapping into plant xylem. It was unfortunate that he’d been diverted watching the cicada at it latched onto his arm. They thought it was a mistake on the part of the cicada when it sank in its proboscis but he knew the truth. He’d seen its red eyes staring at him. It had procreated. He was changing into a were-cicada.

Date: 2013-05-15 09:35 pm (UTC)He's turning into a were-cicada. *GRINS* Who was it that wrote Metamorphosis? ah Kafka. Franz Kafka. A classic of literature.
I went to look up 17 year cicadas and found that they will try to take a sip of a person if you let them sit on your arm long enough because they are a bug of very little brain and obviously you must be a branch. And with a name like Magicicada with magic in the name and the adult is termed an imago .... *GRINS* a Were-cicada was meant to be. *giggles madly*

Date: 2013-05-16 07:44 am (UTC)17 year cicadas are out and about this year. They are driving the people in their locales mad with the cicada love chattering chittering. Think we've been too dry for them here lately. *looks sad*
We missed the tornado that came through this area last night. No hail either though they said there was some the size of grapefruit (4") to the west of us. Have to wait for the news tomorrow for the area that was hit by the tornado. They sent school buses to evacuate the people after the storms passed. Rescue efforts to dig people out too, whether alive or dead is probably in process. Will know tomorrow.

Date: 2013-05-17 01:56 am (UTC)hmmm I need to do more research. Didn't realize that there might be m-cicada/m sex involved. No idea what male cicadas have in the gonad dept. or how it's done in the cicada f/m format.
Be afraid.

Date: 2013-05-17 10:49 pm (UTC)13 tornadoes occurred, 1- EF3(136 - 165 mph wind speeds), 1 - EF4(166 - 200 mph wind speeds). One funnel was a mile wide, they say.
Someone hit the sirens early by accident and it was a God send. The storms went from severe thunder storm to OMG quickly.

Whining. I am whining.
Date: 2013-05-17 11:06 pm (UTC)I want to curl into my bed. My Librarian was mean to me. We're deleting books out of the Library where we have too many copies of one title and will give them to teachers for their classrooms. To prevent them returning to the Library all the circulation barcodes need to be removed and property stamps blacked out. Am going one further and taking off the spine labels.
My thumb nails hurt, my knuckles ache. My Librarian had to break the skin on my orange for me. Thank heaven for lighter fluid disolving most of the adhesives but then my fingers were sticking to each other. *sighs* Got all the books that were on the cart done though.

Date: 2013-05-19 12:35 pm (UTC)I had a day like that Friday. My supervisor phoned about something and I told her if when she came she started her clean-up thing (she moves all the things you're in the middle of as a rule) that I'd seriously walk!
I went in to a mess, spent my shift seriously behind because off all that was done wrong/left with the s.manager on my back about it and trying to chase uncooperative people to meet deadlines.
I hope you weren't sniffing the fumes!
Well done. You deserve chocolate, snuggles and p0rn!
*snuggke* um I'll try and write you some soon?
