3 Dudes Quilt

1 roll 2 1/2" strips gradient colors [ 40 (2.5" x 44") strips of fabric]

Basic Square
Lay 4 strips parallel side by side. Sew them together to form a square. Repeat this with another set of strips.
Lay one square atop the other with the the direction of the strips going perpendicular to the strips of the other square.
Sew around outside of all 4 sides of the 2 layered squares.
Cut diagonally from corner to corner in an X.
Open the resulting 4 triangles and iron. = 4 squares of 8 1/2"
Arrange these squares so that centers for an on point diamond.

62 1/2" x 62 1/2" (6 blocks x 6 blocks)

1 roll 2 1/2" strips gradient colors
1 roll 1 1/2" strips dark color
4 yds. backing

Lay 3 lighter gradient 2 1/2" strips side by side. Sew together. = center strip set
Lay a 1 1/2" strip on either side of a 2 1/2" strip. Sew together and repeat. = 2 outer strip sets.
Sew outer strip sets on either side of the center strip set. = master strip set
Measure across the strips of the master strip set and cut squares that size.
Layer 2 squares together with strips perpendicular to each other.
Sew around outside of all 4 sides of the 2 layered squares.
Cut diagonally from corner to corner in an X.
Open, press, and arrange.
