FB3X Drabble Cascade #127 - 'slink'

I’ve got a cold or allergies … or both and muscles hurt but then I’m back after the summer vacation to reshelving books and some of those shelves are low. Crawling on the floor in a large library is hard on knees. Sitting on industrial carpeting, you find out how close to the surface hip bones are. Levering oneself up from the floor exercises shoulders.
Aaaaand then, there were these two spiders in the bathroom. One was in the web and the other watching, waiting his chance from where web met wall. It’s unfortunate that the web was beside the only door out of the bathroom and there was a bottle of shampoo close at hand. One spider can be captured and relocated. Two spiders… I feel bad. Death happened as quickly as possible.

He crept into the shadows of the entry, staying still so as to avoid detection. There was no hurry about this.

Seeing his moment he threw the line, enmeshing his prey.

Hugh gave a startled cry and followed it with, “Gage! Stop slinking around. Neither of us is a spider and male spiders don’t have places for you to put anything.”

Grinning, Gage replied, “I can think of plenty of interesting places.” He wiggled his fingers on either side of his grin.

Sighing, Hugh relented. How could he turn down such an offer? The presentation was cute, flawed but cute.
