9 large blocks - 5"x 5" (charm packs are about 40 - 5"squares*)
Lattice - 1 1/2" strips ( need 1/2 yard per charm pack squares)
Sew lattice on one side of each block.
Sew blocks together 3 to a row.
Sew lattice between each row of 3 blocks.
Match rows so lattice matches between rows.
When you have 3 rows sewn, cut through center rows at middle of the block 2 1/4". Cut central vertical row and central horizontal row.
Take resulting rows and turn them so none of the lattice meet when sewing them together.
*hmmmm if you buy fabric 6" = 1/6th yard.
Most fabric is 40' to 42" wide.
You'd get 8 - 5" blocks from that amount.
Charm packs cost $10 - $18 per pack one site I looked at. Amazon had 60 for $12 after shipping.
Think I'll have to price fabric.
HMMMMmmmmmmmmm
