The “cookie monsters” made with waffle cone cookies layered with whipped cream, chocolate custard, and ground-up chocolate cake. The strawberries are decorated with melting chocolate and the tentacles are made of a frosting/fondant hybrid.

Lifting the light higher, Warren studied the ancient carvings in the Neolithic barrow, trying not to think of the heavy weight of surrounding soil. Figures undulated, twining around the walls in some kind of fertility rites and a spiral wound upon the floor.

A noise, felt not heard, shook the ground and Warren whirled wildly; watching as the figures started up in slow seductive dancing, increasing as the spiral spun before the lantern failed to darting flashes, shrill cries and the frenetic coupling of bodies.

Etched in the stone, archeologists wondered at what appeared to be a modern seeming figure.

There was much giggling as they left Will on the mound’s grassy slope in a thin white shift with flowers threading his hair and much the worse for drink. The night was still mild and Will lay there gazing up at the stars, smiling, watching as some fell in streaks across the sky. They’d promised that he’d gain his true love or enjoy lust’s satisfaction before morning and he was drunk enough to believe the Fairies’ promises.

Llewellyn, the brawny smith; gathered him up, kissed and called him daft, before stealing away to bed with him; both promises coming true.
