Sneaks this in because we're supposed to have a day+ of rather a lot of rain and my internet doesn't like it most times. Plus torturing the Meridae who probably sees through my evil distracting camouflage.

Everett stared at the bright red fabric lying upon the bed. It had been delivered while he was napping. Wearing little more than an apron around the house was one thing, when no one but Connell and Stephen were the only ones there but this thing … he couldn’t quite put name to it. It was someplace between a long skirt and a floor dragging loincloth.

“I’m not wearing that.” He said pointing at the thing on the bed.Read more... )

Mexican Chocolate Pots de Crème

Mexican chocolate Pots du creme
Mexican chocolate, which is flavored with ingredients like cinnamon, almonds and vanilla, lends a distinct flavor to Stephanie Prida's rich custard. Look for it at Mexican markets and specialty-food stores.

Total Time: 20 min plus chilling
SERVINGS: 6

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
6 large egg yolks
6 ounces Mexican chocolate, preferably Ibarra, finely chopped
6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped, plus shavings for garnish
Unsweetened whipped cream, for serving

Directions:
In a medium saucepan, combine the whole milk with the heavy cream and bring to a simmer over moderately high heat.

In a small bowl, beat the egg yolks until combined. Slowly whisk in 1/2 cup of the hot milk, then transfer the mixture to the saucepan.

Cook the custard over moderate heat, whisking constantly, until it is slightly thickened, about 2 minutes.

Immediately add the finely chopped Mexican and bittersweet chocolate and remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted, then strain the mixture through a fine sieve into a large glass measuring cup or bowl.

Pour the chocolate mixture into 6 small bowls and refrigerate until the pots de crème are chilled, at least 6 hours or overnight. Serve the pots de crème with unsweetened whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

MAKE AHEAD The pots de crème can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.

It rained (more to come), I think as I slept through it, which means that my internet connection is ‘interesting’. Connecting is slow and I get to see in the lower right hand corner a little tab tell me things like connecting to host. I think it also lets me see into the nether regions of Lj because one of the tabs said something about connecting to ads which I’m a paid account and shouldn’t see ads. But then as I was typing a comment the comment box kept flipping back and forth between regular window and the slide bar to look at both sides of what would be a larger window. It quit that but it was disconcerting.

And WHAT? Can't connect to Lj? Try this connection instead http://www.livejournal.com/update.bml. And I'm here.

Fun fact: the capital letters are in the top case, and the others are in the bottom one. That's where we get the terms lowercase and uppercase.
And:
The top/upper case holds the majuscules and the bottom/ lower case holds the minuscules.

This 4-metre shark was filmed thrashing about in shallow waters at Coronation Beach, north of Perth.

Tash Tapper, who shot footage of the shark on the beach, said the whole scene was “surreal”.
According to the Western Australia Department of Fisheries there was “no visible signs of injury or disease”, but “a large Australian sea lion” was found in its throat.

Research scientist Rory McAuley said: “Such a large object may have damaged the shark’s internal organs or impeded water flow into his gills, contributing to his death.”
