FB3X Drabble Cascade #46 - Hope
Title: The Welcoming Touch
Author: charisstoma
Word count: 221
Prompt: Hope
It's a flash... right, right? Allowed?
This came from photo of the Crazy Cat Lady Starter Kit of kittens.

‘Well at least there’s only one this time.’
Hiss watched the new kitten as he tumbled over the, high for him, side of the arrival box. Obviously the kitten was new, his legs still uncoordinated and all over the place.
‘At least he’s past the crying and clawing his way along the floor on his belly stage.’
Hiss sighed, why was he the one to get the duty of showing the new kittens ‘the what was what and the this is that’ at Miss Emily’s Elementary School and Home for Orphan Familiar Kittens?
‘Alright show time,’ he made his way over to the little one putting a graceful, tail high in the air, sway into his walk and touched noses. “I’m Hiss.”
“I’m Tumble,” was mewed back with a baby’s half lisp.
“You need a wash,” he said pragmatically and proceeded with a heavy paw to give one before mouthing up Tumble by the scruff of his neck and taking him on a tour that included the all important litter box room.
Sternly to himself he thought, ’I will not let myself be distracted by the small purr that is rumbling against my mouth’ but of course he did, like with every other kitten that he'd welcomed, and rumbled back the sound of homecoming that every small orphaned kitten needed .
