Houston in the summer is both very hot and very humid. I don’t know how they lived before air conditioning.
“How may I help you?” the demon looked up from his pile of paperwork, “Come on I haven’t all day; people to not see, things to do. You aren’t the only lost soul in Hell.”
“There’s been a mistake made,” said the soul.
“We don’t make mistakes,” was snidely rebutted.
Stated firmly, “Well, you did this time.”
A grin spread across the demon’s face, “We … don’t … make mistakes.”
“But I’m returning home. “
“And home is where?”
“Houston,Texas.”
“OH!” A note was hurriedly scribbled out. “You’re right. You are in the wrong place. That part of Hell is above ground.”
