KOOL-AID ICE CREAM !
1 - packet 0.14 oz unsweetened kool-aid, any flavor
1 - cup granulated sugar (to sweet for me)
2 - cups whole or 2% milk
1 - cup half & half
Mix one packet unsweetened Kool-Aid mix together with granulated sugar. Add the milk, half & half and mix until dissolved. Pour mixture into a shallow freezer container.
Freeze for 1 - 2 hours until slightly thickened. Transfer mixture to a bowl and beat until smooth (I used a wire whisk).
Return to freezer container, cover and freeze 8 hours or over night. Remove 20 minutes before serving to soften slightly.
Recipe yields - 3 cups.

I've made what I call sorbet - basically boil Rhubarb with sugar, push resulting goo through a sieve and freeze it, 'forking' it every hour.
Like a slush-puppy a pretty pale pink colour and tasty.
Also made it with blackcurrants, a deep purplry red, stronger taste, equally nice :D
Oh I did make vanilla ice-cream the other day! go me :D
it was nice.

Date: 2013-08-26 03:19 am (UTC)My aunt made koolaid popcorn once for Halloween back when I was a kid. It looks better than it tastes.
If you use brown sugar and no koolaid in that recipe you get caramel corn. I made it on Friday and just kept eating it. I'm going to put peanuts in the next batch to make homemade Cracker Jacks.
