‘Well at least there’s only one this time.’

Hiss watched the new kitten as he tumbled over the, high for him, side of the arrival box. Obviously the kitten was new, his legs still uncoordinated and all over the place.

‘At least he’s past the crying and clawing his way along the floor on his belly stage.’

Hiss sighed, why was he the one to get the duty of showing the new kittens ‘the what was what and the this is that’ at Miss Emily’s Elementary School and Home for Orphan Familiar Kittens?

‘Alright show time,’ he made his way over to the little one putting a graceful, tail high in the air, sway into his walk and touched noses. “I’m Hiss.”

“I’m Tumble,” was mewed back with a baby’s half lisp.

“You need a wash,” he said pragmatically and proceeded with a heavy paw to give one before mouthing up Tumble by the scruff of his neck and taking him on a tour that included the all important litter box room.

Sternly to himself he thought, ’I will not let myself be distracted by the small purr that is rumbling against my mouth’ but of course he did, like with every other kitten that he'd welcomed, and rumbled back the sound of homecoming that every small orphaned kitten needed .

*smiles* Cloyingly sweet do you think?
I fed 3 cats yesterday against the cold below freezing temperatures. This may have had something to do with this though I wrote it at work. And there was that photo.

You photos do show how these things start ;)

Not cloyingly lovely! I was checking in on route to bed so this was a welcome treat - you normally leave me nasties which make me regret checking pre-sleep lol ....and I STILL haven't finished reading your murderous Christmas trees fic - I WILL get to them, I will *determined*

I want more Tumble and Hiss, Tumble sounds adorable and Hiss hiding a gooey heart under his sexy sway and attitude has to have many admirers. Write me more? *pleady look with added kitten*

*laughing* We'll see about more. This did turn out pretty well.

They were doing testing and there weren't many students in the Library. Didn't know what the Drabble word was going to be but I 'hoped' it would be something this could be used for. *GRINS*

It's a good thing there weren't many students in. When the last sentences were typed up I was tearing up from the awhhhh. Don't you hate it when that happens.

*laughing* If you knew how many times I've commented having forgotten to sign on first. Thank you for it not being just me that does that.

*SMILES* Thank you. I'm glad this pleased.

So cute. At least no one dropped off the starter kit. Hiss would have his hands too full to enjoy the little purrs.

Thank you. *pleased smile*

I've been there. Arizona out in the country suburb. People find out their cat is pregnant and leave her out in the country for her to feed herself and raise her kittens. Slowly I got all the females fixed before the next litter. Reminded me of a scene from the Disney film Moon-Spinners of the cat colony.

Oh, I loved this! It's been a bitch of a week, and I sooo needed this story to lighten up. I've got a ridiculously big smile right now.

Thanks!
