Discarded clothing, like enticing bread crumbs, laid a trail towards the bedroom.

Jerome’s grin widened as he methodically picked up each one and carefully folded it onto the growing pile in his arms, only too aware that his actions were under ever increasingly impatient observation.

An encouraging whine came from the bedroom implying rising desperation and he tried to stifle a chuckle.

“Jerry if you don’t get your ass in here soon, I’ll start without you and THEN you’ll be disappointed,” was threatened.

Jerome’s, “You know if you wanted my attention …”, was cut off by a demanding kiss .

Happy Birthday. I hope that they make it good for you. Cake and balloons and off-key renditions of Birthday songs.

I'd rather no one notice. Otherwise coworkers will get on the intercom and wish me a happy birthday multiple times.

I always ask for it off (and in all my years of school only had to attend on my birthday twice), but the floral manager has a mandatory class (for Valentines) on that day, on it's a freight day so I can't even ask someone from another department to take over for the day.

Birthdays are also the time at work for performance reviews. I hope all my extra effort this year gets acknowledged.

Thanks. It's not until after Christmas, but that's coming too fast. I don't even have any shopping done and I have only two more days off only one of which I can shop on. Time to get crafty.
