A Mother’s love

There once was a djinn of long ago who loved most unwise.
She allowed herself to find a love from among the magic less,
who dealt in only lies.
She gave her heart and then her soul to an unworthy one,
The child she bore him was a comfort,
but the deed had already been done.
When the child was old enough to live apart,
She took him off to family,
She left him there in their loving care
And then cut the unworthy one from her heart.
This explains why there are male djinn now,
And the female direct the Sands,
The Mother watches over her sons,
Trying to keep them safe in all their far away lands.
