Oh, The Lowly Dandelion

The Health Benefits of Eating Dandelion Greens
Both ubiquitous and reviled by homeowners desirous of a perfectly manicured lawn, the common dandelion is edible and offers a wealth of nutritional and medicinal benefits. Fresh dandelion greens have a mild, pleasant, slightly bitter flavor and are available at many health food stores. If you eschew chemical fertilizers and other lawn treatments you might consider controlling your dandelions by harvesting them.

GRRRR have you seen the roots on those things?

harvesting them wont keep them in check those seeds spread everywhere. I like the yellow flowers but not around my attempts to grow veg.

Dandelion and Burdock is a drink in Wales though I don't think the commercial versions contain Dandelion anymore.

Small Beer maybe, keep saying I'm going to try making some, only ever brewed Ginger Beer before.

*Grins* Ooooh yes.
The roots are used in some coffee substitutes. They're perennials.

Will say that Texas has a pretty version Pyrrhopappus multicaulis or the many stem false dandelion.

I know they're perennials - they come back every year and bring new friends!

Pretty.
