werewolf cat

Meet the Lykoi, otherwise known as the werewolf cat!

A genetic mutation occurring in healthy, domesticated shorthair cats causes a hair pattern that resembles a werewolf. After some genetic testing to make sure that the hair pattern didn’t indicate health problems, two cats from unrelated litters were selected to start to make a healthy breed. The cats have also been examined by veterinarians, dermatologists, and cardiologists to ensure the breed is in good health.

In 2012, the Lykoi became a recognized breed of The International Cat Association.

Quite a startling looking being. Imagine staying over at someone's house and waking up to that friendly face purring down at you first thing in the morning!

Or hissing face looking down at you first thing in the morning.

You know if it scratched or bit anyone that rabies would not be the first thought on their mind. They'd be calculating how many days until the next full moon.

Poor thing. It must not have a very good cold tolerance.
