Wizard World drabble - Meridae the writer ninja snuck this into one of my posts. It is wondrous.

Comment here to her.

"What did I tell you last year about the Christmas Tree? " Warne asked sternly as he walked into the parlor and eyed the wreckage feline paws had made of the yuletide decorations. Without another word, he lifted the tree up and began the process of undecorating the room.

Five disbelieving kittens looked on in dismay, aghast at their Christmas cheer so easily being thwarted by Papa Ranel's naughty antics.

Ranel sat in the corner, blatantly licked his tail to convey Just How Much He Didn't Care.

Grimly, despite his offspring's obvious distress, he continued removing the tree, tinsel, and other trimmings. His wayward husband HAD to learn. The Christmas Tree was not an enemy to be destroyed at all costs, and it was their kittens that suffered when he tried.

::nods:: Ranel is very young and very silly. He was underage when he got pregnant, and isn't much older here. Also, mostly cat. You've seen how even the oldest of cats can behave around Christmas trees right?

In the case of my cat its lofty boredom, with the occasional querilous enquiry as to why anyone is admiring that when he has silky fur and big eyes and ears that need scritching.

Ah but Ratbag is allowed outside where trees live naturally.

Yet why does he knock miniature crocheted ornaments down where Cookie can eat on them?

I forgot to ask, where was Ratbag during the hail? He should have been cuddling on the bed with you too.

OUTSIDE, outside where its wet and cold and theres noone to worship him? Are you crazy?

Nope. He saves his prowling for the summer, in winter he moves from food bowl to litter to sofa - today he's feeling adventerous and is curled up on what was a pile of clean clothes in the front-room.

Yesterday was spent taunting outdoor creatures from the safety of the windowsill, nicely lit by Christmas lights for best effect. One does like his comfort.

Oooooh warm clothes fresh from the dryer, you do spoil him.
And you even showcase him in the window for admiration and his act.
Do you put a heated pad there for him so he doesn't get a chill while taunting the outside creatures by the chilly glass?
