Sorry it took me so long to comment--I'm finally getting a chance to catch up on everything I missed this week.

This is excellent. It's hard not to admire Drew's naive optimism!

I imagined this as present day as I read it. And I didn't think of Tony in a negative light. I think I pictured him as an older guy, tolerant but not encouraging of Drew's crush. Someone who would send Drew back home, hopefully letting him down easy in the process.

Reading through the other comments was just as interesting as reading the piece itself -- I like those other perspectives as well, though I'm sticking with my head canon for now. :P
