Yes, this is still April and maybe you'll find out what happened before this part of the story which happens in May. *grins*
Continues from here.
Looking around at his family, he realized how much he’d missed the chaos. Everything happening at once; hugs and kisses, noise and constant motion, so many individuals doing things and everything getting done. The house.. not so much. Tim was use to Cathardt’s house and Tim’s parent house was cramped in comparison. It have never bothered him before. When his stint with Cathardt was done he’d have to ask Delgado for more assignments, perhaps with some wandering poet who liked to tromp about over the landscape. Or it was that he missed Cathardt with his hands on ways.
“Come on, my boy. Meeting starts in 30 minutes. It’ll be a wonder if we get seats even in the back. I’m getting too old to stand through a whole entire meeting.”
“You’ll never be old Da.” Looking around at his siblings, “what’s Mom say, ‘Having children around keeps you young.’” His Da had laughed.
He’d stood at the back leaving his Da to take the chair in company with his old buddies. There were many others standing, this meeting was going to be well attended, the mix of colors, shapes and styles of plunnies blurring in its diversity.
“Hear, you got an assignment, long term one.”
“Yep. I like it.” Tim wouldn’t say more. Wouldn’t tell that the author he was working with was well-known author Ian Cathardt. Wouldn’t tell anything about what they were working on, for plots could be stolen. It had happened. And for sure he wouldn’t tell how he, Tim, was assisting in the manner of his plunnying. That was definitely private between him and his author, at least until the book was published then it was all in the minds of the readers.
There was a tapping on a mike. Evidently George had left some of his equipment behind, he’d still not returned from ‘The Event’, or someone else had determined that it was easier to be heard.
“May this meeting come to order.” Tim straightened, stiffening. He knew that voice. The images that flashed across his mind’s eye distracted him from the words whose rich honey poured over memories waiting to be licked.
“Our thanks to all of you for the providing of this PA system. It comes in very handy getting all of your attention.” There was general laughter. “For lack of George, I am starting up this meeting but if any one of you would like to assume this position please make it known or perhaps the assembly could elect someone to assume the conducting of the meetings. I don’t feel that much of any possessiveness towards the position.”
From the floor, “No, that would be George having the possessiveness and he’s not here.”
“Here. Here,” had agreed the assembly.
“I nominate Delgado continue with the keeping order with these meetings. He keeps order in the rest of our workings anyway, why not here too?”
“Here. Here,” had Degado instated with the total approbation of the meeting attendees.
