There was a reminder in my in-box…..
Please notice the rating of 'no adult content'. It's true *wails* So true.
The sound in the room was quite deafening, the attendees milling around greeting friends and checking out the new ones. From the front of the room came a hollow tapping. The din quieted and was replaced by stunned whispers, “Oi, when did we get a PA system?” Most just frowned or looked amused at the source of the tapping.
“George got himself a boombox.”
“Figures he would. Big know-it-all, conceited git.”
“Shhhh, he’ll hear you and then we’ll have to listen to him illustrate why he’s a know-it-all conceited git.” This was answered by a snort.
“I’ve only just been made aware of a date that should not be forgot. It was concealed cleverly in amongst the other notices. Luckily I did notice.” There were less discrete snorts from his audience.
Raising his voice, amplified through the mike in his paw, “April 12th is you-know-who’s birthday. Our arch-resister has been very quiet of late. “
A flurry of whispered, “No? Really? We almost missed it?”
“Outrageous”
“Inconceivable.”
“Unconscionable.” *
A roared, “Will we let this happen?!”
“NO!” was roared back.
Plans were started that very night.
